GENERAL

Maga Therapy is offered for the purposes of deep relaxation, stress management, reduction of muscular tension and developing holistic personal awareness.

Maga Therapy excludes spinal manipulations.

All treatments are non-sexual/sensual nature. If sexual advances are made or sexual intentions relating to the session are made known, the treatment WILL be terminated immediately.

I reserve the right to refuse to work on any person under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

I respect all clients regardless of their age; gender, race, national origin, sexual orientation, religion or political affiliation.

As per the Complementary Therapist Association, I (Dawn Symons, creator of Maga Therapy) will maintain the confidentiality of all client’s information except in the event the client agrees to disclosure in writing, or by court order.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Please allow 24 hours cancellation notice prior to your appointment to avoid the cancellation fee. Every effort will be made to fill any spots where cancellation is made within the 24 hour period. If the appointment is not filled, a cancellation fee may be applied. Cancellation fee is equivalent to the full fee for the missed appointment.

LATE ARRIVALS

Appointments will be automatically cancelled 20 minutes after the scheduled massage start time and charged according to the cancellation policy.  With advance notification of your late arrival, I may be able to accommodate a partial or full appointment. This will be at our discretion and when my schedule allows.

(Cont.) If I am running late, I will give you your full Maga Therapy treatment time for the service you reserved or if you prefer, you may reschedule your appointment with no additional fees.

YOUR COMFORT DURING YOUR APPOINTMENT

You should discuss with ME (Dawn Symons Maga Therapy Holistic Practitioner) directly about style and depth of pressure required during your massage.

I provide full towel draping during your massage to maintain high levels of dignity and comfort.

In keeping with my commitment to cleanliness, safety and hygiene, my equipment is cleaned after every Maga Therapy treatment. Freshly laundered towels, couch covers etc are used for each client.

PROFESSIONAL/ETHICAL RELATIONSHIP

Due to the nature of the treatments provided, sexual interaction, discussion or requests for sexual activity are NOT appropriate and will NOT be tolerated. In such cases the treatment will end immediately. The client will neither be rescheduled nor referred.

The breast and genital area will not be massaged under ANY circumstances, a professional distance will always be maintained from these areas.

To treat longstanding misalignment or pain issues it is sometimes necessary to treat your low back, hip & gluteal area, HOWEVER, should this trigger a sexual reaction, treatment to those areas will cease immediately– massage to the ‘trigger area’ will not be repeated.

Although it is extremely rare, occasionally massage can sometimes cause (unwanted, unintentional) sexual arousal, in such situations there’s no need to be embarrassed.

If arousal occurs, I will change the massage techniques to a more invigorating type and work the remaining session time on the back, shoulder and neck areas (only).

Future offer of massage treatments will be for a back, neck and shoulder (only) for in my professional opinion it would be wholly unethical to massage ‘trigger’ areas.

Reoccurrence of arousal will result in an immediate end to the session and a permanent termination the Client/Therapist Relationship.
